An OC Transpo bus driver has been charged after allegedly accepting cash and tickets directly from passengers.
In a press release sent out Wednesday, the city said OC Transpo special constables arrested and charged a bus driver with two counts of theft under $5,000.
The driver is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11.
"OC Transpo takes all allegations of fare evasion and fraud seriously. This ensures that fare revenues and the City?s property taxpayers are protected," the press release said.
OC Transpo's policy is that all cash and tickets collected from passengers must be deposited in fare boxes.
